Treasurer Stacy Garrity Warns Holders of Unclaimed Property of Phishing Scam
Harrisburg, PA - Treasurer Stacy Garrity today warned holders of unclaimed property that an email which may appear to be from the Pennsylvania Treasury Department was not sent by Treasury – and it appears to be a phishing scam.
The suspect email thanks the recipient for attending an event about unclaimed property and indicates that a “certificate” is ready for download. This email did not originate from the Pennsylvania Treasury Department, and anyone who receives it should not click on the link to download the “certificate.”
