Lancaster, PA - Treasurer Stacy Garrity today announced that more than $3,000 worth of unclaimed property was found for fans of the Lancaster Stormers who attended last Tuesday’s baseball game against the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars.
“The Lancaster Stormers came out strong from the first inning, taking the lead and never looking back,” Treasurer Garrity said. “Like the Stormers, my team and I will never stop working to reunite people with their unclaimed property. I encourage everyone to see if they have unclaimed property available by visiting our website today. It only takes a minute to search, and you never know if you might hit a home run of your own by finding some money you didn’t realize belonged to you.”

“The Lancaster Stormers wants to thank Treasurer Garrity and her team for an amazing night at the Stormers last week. This was the Stormers’ first time having the Treasurer here to look for unclaimed property, and we could not have been happier with the turnout. From the fans we talked with that evening they were excited to see what unclaimed property they had and they look forward to seeing the Treasurer at more games next season.”

Fans who attended the game, a 11-0 victory for the Stormers over the Flying Boxcars, were assisted by Treasury’s outreach staff as they searched for unclaimed property. The total identified to be returned is $3,241.39 to 29 fans.
The Stormers started the game strong, with the Stormers scoring five runs while starter Noah Bremer pitched five shutout innings. The Stormers added six more runs in the bottom of the sixth, including a three-run home run by Niko Hulsizer to solidify their win over Hagerstown.
Unclaimed property can include things like dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, insurance policies, contents of forgotten safe deposit boxes and more. State law requires businesses to report unclaimed property to Treasury after three years of dormancy.
Treasury is working to return more than $4.5 billion in unclaimed property to more than one in ten Pennsylvanians. The average unclaimed property claim is worth about $1,600. Treasurer Garrity has returned more than $700 million in unclaimed property to hardworking Pennsylvanians, businesses, nonprofits, and local government agencies.
