  • National Council on Aging: The National Council on Aging provides numerous resources to help seniors navigate financial programs and support systems available.
  • Tools for Financial Security in Later Life: These tools help seniors navigate and guide themselves through challenging financial decisions.
  • Introduction to Social Security : This course offers questions and answers to introduce Social Security information.
  • Social Security Administration (SSA): SSA’s website provides valuable information about SSA and provides tools to see benefit estimates, eligibility and more.
  • Social Security Education Center: The Social Security Education Center is dedicated to educating those approaching Social Security age about their options so that they can strategize and maximize their Social Security benefits.
  • Life Insurance 101: Life Insurance 101 is a course provided by Life Happens that provides a brief overview of what life insurance is and other relevant information pertaining to life insurance.

Pennsylvania Resources for Older Pennsylvanians:

  • PA 529: Pennsylvania’s 529 College and Career Savings Program gives families a simple, flexible, and tax advantaged way to save for the rising costs of higher education, trade schools, apprenticeships, credential programs and K 12 learning—helping them plan for whatever educational path their children choose.
  • PA ABLE: PA ABLE Saving Program accounts provide Pennsylvanians with disabilities and their families the opportunity to save money tax-free without losing access to important benefits.
  • Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program (PTRR): The PTRR program provides rebates to Pennsylvanians 65 and older, widows and widowers 50 and older who qualify based on annual income limitations.
  • PA Banking and Securities: A variety of free programs and tools to help people invest wisely and avoid fraud.
  • Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly Program (PACE): These programs provide discounts for prescription medications for participants of Medicare Part D and other plans.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Aging: This state agency provides a variety of resources specifically for older Pennsylvanians, including caregiver support, employment resources and housing help and more.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Humans Services (DHS): DHS provides program resources and information including Medicaid and an Economic Self Sufficiency program that provides financial coaching for SNAP/TANF recipients to help them move toward financial independence.
